An Riabhachan Terrain Block

An Riabhachan is a remote, grassy giant located in the wilderness north of Loch Mullardoch. It is a long ridge of a mountain, often climbed as part of the epic Mullardoch Round. Its northern face is broken by steep crags and gullies, while the southern slopes descend in long, relentless grassy sweeps to the loch. It offers a true feeling of isolation in one of the wildest parts of the Highlands.

About An Riabhachan

Its name 'The Brindled One' refers to the mottled appearance of its vegetation, a mix of grass and rock. Part of the traditional deer forests of the Highlands, its remoteness meant it was one of the harder Munros to bag before the construction of the Mullardoch dam facilitated access along the loch.
