Aonach Meadhoin Terrain Block

Aonach Meadhoin is the 'Middle Ridge' of the Brothers of Kintail, sandwiched between Sgurr a' Bhealaich Dheirg and Saileag. It is a fine, rocky peak comprising a long, horizontal ridge. The north spur towards Glen Shiel offers a direct, steep ascent. The summit ridge is delightful, with easy scrambling potential and superb views of the neighbouring Five Sisters across the glen.

About Aonach Meadhoin

Part of the Kintail estate, historically Clan MacRae territory. The 'Middle Ridge' name is purely descriptive of its central position in the chain. It played a role in the Battle of Glen Shiel in 1719, where Jacobite forces clashed with Government troops nearby.
