Beinn a' Chochuill Terrain Block

Beinn a' Chochuill is a long, grassy ridge that runs parallel to Ben Cruachan, offering a less fierce but equally rewarding day out. Its ridge provides superb walking on short turf with extensive views over Loch Etive and the surrounding peaks. It is almost always climbed in a circuit with Beinn Eunaich, forming a classic horseshoe walk that avoids re-ascending.

About Beinn a' Chochuill

Name means 'Hill of the Shell' or 'Hood'. It lacks the aggressive crags of its neighbour Cruachan, serving as a pastoral contrast. The ridge was used for summer grazing, and old shieling ruins can be found in the corries below, testament to a bygone agricultural era.
