Beinn a' Chreachain Terrain Block

Beinn a' Chreachain rises as the southern neighbour of Beinn Achaladair, sharing a high connecting ridge. It overlooks the vast wilderness of the Black Mount and the Moor of Rannoch. The summit is broad and stony, offering panoramic views of the central Highlands. It is best combined with Beinn Achaladair for a classic horseshoe walk.

About Beinn a' Chreachain

Name means 'Hill of the Clams' or 'Scallops', possibly referring to shell-shaped rocks. It sits above Loch Lyon, which was significantly raised by a dam. The West Highland Way passes nearby, and the area was used for droving cattle to market.
