Beinn a' Chroin Terrain Block

Beinn a' Chroin is a rugged, multi-topped mountain near Crianlarich, often climbed with An Caisteal. It has a confusing, undulating summit ridge with several rocky knolls, making identification of the true summit a fun challenge in mist. The terrain is rougher and rockier than many of its grassy neighbours, offering some hands-on scrambling.

About Beinn a' Chroin

Name means 'The Warning Hill' or 'Hill of Danger/Harm'. This foreboding name might refer to the treacherous rocky terrain or its role as a lookout post. It marks a shift in geology, presenting a cragglier face to the world than the smooth slopes of the southern hills.
