Beinn an Dothaidh Terrain Block

Beinn an Dothaidh stands at the head of the sheer wall of Coire Achaladair, a neighbour to the famous Beinn Dorain. While Dorain is a cone, Dothaidh is a flat-topped fortress with three distinct summits. The view from the top down the wall into Rannoch Moor is vertiginous and spectacular, contrasting the high plateau with the flat expanse below.

About Beinn an Dothaidh

Name means 'Hill of the Scorching' or 'Burning', perhaps referring to the colour of the grass in autumn or signal fires lit on its expansive summit. It forms the northern bastion of the 'Bridge of Orchy' hills, guarding the pass.
