Beinn Bheoil Terrain Block

Beinn Bheoil acts as a wall along the shore of Loch Ericht, a long, narrow ridge that runs parallel to the massive Ben Alder. Often climbed as a return route from its famous neighbour, it offers arguably the best views of Ben Alder's dramatic eastern corries. The ridge walking is superb, on sound rock with the loch shimmering far below, giving a feeling of flight.

About Beinn Bheoil

Name means 'Hill of the Mouth', possibly referring to its position relative to the pass or the mouth of the loch. It was once a quieter alternative to the hunting estates, offering passage along the lochside. It has played a supporting role to Ben Alder's stardom for centuries.
