Beinn Bhreac Terrain Block

Beinn Bhreac is a small, unobtrusive Munro hidden in the central Cairngorms behind Beinn a' Bhuird. It mostly consists of moorland and heather, with scattered pine trees on its lower slopes regeneration. It offers a rare perspective on the 'back' of the great Cairngorm giants, with silence and solitude guaranteed. It is a refuge for wildlife, including capercaillie and deer.

About Beinn Bhreac

The 'Speckled Hill' likely gets its name from the mix of heather, rock, and perhaps remaining snow patches. It lies in the heart of the Mar Lodge Estate regeneration area, where conservation efforts are bringing back the native woodland that once covered these hills.
