Beinn Challuim Terrain Block

Beinn Challuim is a pyramid of grassy slopes standing above Tyndrum. Historically dedicated to St. Columba, it was likely a site of pilgrimage or monastic association. The ascent is grassy and occasionally boggy, but the final ridge narrows pleasantly. It is often capped with a large festive cairn and serves as a local landmark for the village.

About Beinn Challuim

Named after St. Columba ('Malcolm's Hill' is a mistranslation, usually 'Hill of Columba'). Legend says the saint preached here. It sits near the site of the Battle of Dalrigh where Robert the Bruce was defeated and forced to flee, throwing his sword into a lochan.
