Beinn Dorain Terrain Block

Beinn Dorain is an iconic mountain, a huge conical tower that dominates the view for anyone driving north on the A82. Its symmetry is beautiful, and it was immortalised in poetry by Duncan Ban MacIntyre. The ascent is steep but the high grassy ridge offers easy walking to the large summit cairn.

About Beinn Dorain

Subject of the famous Gaelic poem 'Moladh Beinn Dòbhrain' (Praise of Ben Doran) by Duncan Ban MacIntyre, describing the deer and the landscape in vivid detail. It is the spiritual home of the Gaelic bardic tradition.
