About Beinn Lair

Beinn Lair has for centuries been one of the most remote mountains in the Highlands, part of the ancient deer forests of Letterewe and Flowerdale. Historically, it was a place inhabited only by highland shepherds and hunters since the early Christian era. Geologically, it is part of the Moine supergroup, its rocks recording millions of years of tectonic pressure, now evident in its folded rocks and sharp ridges. Today, it remains a peak of pilgrimage for those seeking a true encounter with the wild, untamed heritage of the Scottish interior, requiring long expeditions that preserve its status as a cornerstone of the Scottish wilderness.
