Beinn Sgulaird Terrain Block

Beinn Sgulaird is a coastal mountain of immense character, guarding the entrance to Glen Etive from the sea. It is a long, tortuous ridge of rock and heather, involving significant ascent and re-ascent. The views west over Lismore and Mull are expansive and beautiful. It is often saved for a good day to appreciate the unique seascape perspective.

About Beinn Sgulaird

Name means 'Hill of the Hat' or 'Rocky Hill'. It is a solitary mountain, not easily linked with others. Its position made it a natural lookout point for Vikings and later clan watchers guarding the sea approaches to the inner glens.
