Ben Chonzie Terrain Block

Ben Chonzie (Ben-y-Hone) is the 'Mossy Mountain' of Strathearn, a rounded lump of a hill that is often used as a training peak. It lacks the drama of the west, consisting mostly of heather and hare-filled slopes. However, its broad summit offers an immense panorama of the southern Highlands, and it is easily accessible from Glen Turret.

About Ben Chonzie

Name 'Beinn Chon-sith' means 'Hill of the Fairy Dogs' (though other translations exist). It sits above the Loch Turret reservoir. The fence line leading to the summit is a famous navigational aid (or handrail) for walkers in poor visibility.
