Ben More Assynt Terrain Block

Ben More Assynt is the highest peak in Assynt, a land of geological wonders. It is a complex mountain of quartzite and gneiss, hidden behind its neighbour Conival. The ridge connecting them is rough and rocky. It sits in a landscape of singular beauty, surrounded by isolated peaks and hundreds of lochans, offering a truly wild experience.

About Ben More Assynt

The 'Big Hill of Assynt'. It was the site of the last stand of the MacLeods of Assynt against the Mackenzies. The geology here is world-famous, featuring the Moine Thrust, where older rocks were shoved over younger ones.
