Ben Oss Terrain Block

Ben Oss is a rugged mountain often overshadowed by its parent, Ben Lui. However, 'The Elk's Hill' is a fine peak in its own right, offering a fantastic perspective on the back of Lui's dramatic corrie. It is rough and rocky, with a distinct character and a quieter atmosphere than the main summits of the Tyndrum hills.

About Ben Oss

Name means 'Outlet Hill' or 'Elk's Hill', though elk have been extinct in Scotland for millennia. It was part of the royal hunting forests. It is separated from Ben Lui by a deep bealach, making the double ascent a strenuous but worthwhile day out.
