Binnein Mòr Terrain Block

Binnein Mòr is the highest peak in the Mamores and a mountain of true grandeur. Its name, meaning 'Big Peak', is well-earned as it dominates the range with its sharp, shapely summit ridge. The climb from Kinlochleven involves a significant ascent, often traversing the famous 'Na Gruagaichean' ridge. In winter, its corniced ridges offer some of the finest mountaineering days in the Highlands, with the view of Ben Nevis across the glen being particularly striking.

About Binnein Mòr

Known as the King of the Mamores, this mountain has long been a favourite of Scottish hillwalkers. Its proximity to Kinlochleven meant it was a familiar sight to the aluminium smelter workers and the community that grew in the glen. The ridge systems here are complex and provided ideal training grounds for early mountaineers honing their skills for greater ranges.
