Blà Bheinn Terrain Block

Blà Bheinn (Blaven) is the outlier of the Black Cuillin of Skye, standing apart on the east side of Glen Sligachan. It is one of the most dramatic and beautiful mountains in Scotland, rising in a single thrust of gabbro rock from sea level. The ascent is a scenic scramble with stunning views of the main Cuillin ridge.

About Blà Bheinn

Name 'Blue Mountain' comes from its appearance when seen from the mainland. It was the first Cuillin peak to be climbed, in 1857. It stands as the gateway to the main ridge, teasing climbers with what lies beyond on the In Pinn and beyond.
