Buidhe Bheinn has for centuries been part of the vast, wild hunting grounds of the Glen Shiel and Knoydart estates, a landscape inhabited only by highland shepherds and hunters since the early Christian era. Historically, it was a focal point for the early communities that lived in the hidden glens, its ridges serving as vital lookouts over the lochs. Geologically, it is part of the Moine supergroup, its rocks recording millions of years of tectonic pressure, now evident in its folded rocks and sharp ridges. Today, it remains a focal point for those seeking a true encounter with the wild, untamed heritage of the West Highlands, requiring long expeditions that preserve its status as a cornerstone of the Scottish wilderness.
