Càrn a' Chlamain Terrain Block

Càrn a' Chlamain is a substantial Munro in the wild country north of Blair Atholl, usually reached via the long track up Glen Tilt. It is a stony, rounded mountain offering superb views of the empty lands to the west. The approach is long but beautiful, passing through ancient Caledonian pines.

About Càrn a' Chlamain

Name means 'Cairn of the Kite' or 'Buzzard'. The bird name is common in Scottish hill names. It was part of the Duke of Atholl's hunting estates. Glen Tilt was the scene of a famous access dispute in the 1840s.
