Càrn an Rìgh Terrain Block

Càrn an Rìgh, the 'King's Cairn', is a remote and cone-shaped peak hidden in the wilds behind Glenshee. It is one of the furthest Munros from a public road in this group, ensuring solitude. The summit is a pile of grey stones, offering a royal viewpoint over the sprawling Atholl estates. It is usually bagged on a long expedition with Glas Tulaichean.

About Càrn an Rìgh

The name suggests a royal connection, possibly a hunting spot for Scottish kings who frequented the Forest of Atholl. It remains a prime stalking estate, and the pony tracks leading to its base are a testament to the Victorian era of field sports.
