Càrn Aosda Terrain Block

Càrn Aosda is famous (or infamous) as the easiest Munro, rising directly above the Glenshee Ski Centre. A track leads almost to the summit, making for a very short ascent. While marred by ski infrastructure on its eastern side, the westward views over the wild Cairnwell Pass are extensive. It is often the first Munro for beginners and can be climbed in a matter of minutes from the car park.

About Càrn Aosda

Name means 'Reviewer's Cairn' or 'Hill of Age'. Its slopes have been skied since the early days of Scottish snowsports. The development of the ski centre in the 1960s transformed the mountain, bringing road access to a high elevation and opening the summits to the masses.
