Càrn Bhac Terrain Block

Càrn Bhac is a remote Munro in the empty lands north of the Geldie Burn, part of the vast Cairngorm-Atholl watershed. It is a long walk from any direction, offering profound solitude. The summit is a stony dome typical of the region, with views across the featureless plateau to distant peaks.

About Càrn Bhac

Name means 'Cairn of Peat Banks' or 'Hill of the Peat Cutting'. The area was traditionally used for cutting peat for fuel. It remains one of the quietest Munros due to the long approaches required.
