Càrn Mòr Dearg is the perfect partner to Ben Nevis, a graceful fin of pink granite that offers the finest view of the Ben's north face. It is connected to the Ben by the famous 'Càrn Mòr Dearg Arête', a sweeping ridge that provides a classic scrambling route to the highest point in the UK. For many, this is the discerning hiker's way to climb Ben Nevis.

About Càrn Mòr Dearg

The 'Great Red Cairn' takes its name from the distinctive colour of its granite. While overshadowed in height by Ben Nevis, it is often regarded as the more beautiful peak, its sharp crest contrasting with the Ben's heavy bulk.
