Carn an Fhidhleir Terrain Block

Càrn an Fhìdhleir is a remote and shapely mountain near the Aberdeenshire border, usually climbed with An Sgarsoch. The approach is very long, typically involving a bike ride up Glen Tilt or from Deeside. The summit offers a tremendous sense of isolation in the wild watershed lands of the central Highlands.

About Carn an Fhidhleir

Name means 'The Fiddler's Cairn', though the origin of the name is lost. It sits on the old boundary between Atholl and Mar. The 'Tarf Hotel' bothy lies nearby, offering shelter to those exploring this vast empty quarter.
