Carn Sgulain Terrain Block

Càrn Sgùlain is a rounded Munro in the Monadhliath, part of a group of remote, rolling hills. It is a long ridge walk from any direction, crossing vast expanses of heather and peat. The summit is a large stony dome offering far-reaching views of the surrounding emptiness and towards Creag Meagaidh.

About Carn Sgulain

Name means 'Hill of the Basket' or 'Creel'. The Monadhliath are the 'Grey Hills', a reference to their heathery, rounded character. The area is vital for red grouse and deer, forming part of the Highland sporting landscape.
