Conival Terrain Block

Conival is the neighbour and route to Ben More Assynt, the highest peak in the region. It is a mountain of quartzite and gneiss, presenting a rough, rocky face. The ascent is relentless, involving a long pull up its southwestern slopes. It forms an essential part of any trip to the Ben More Assynt summit.

About Conival

Name means 'Joining/Meeting Mountain'. It is literally the connection point to Ben More Assynt via a rough rocky ridge. The geology here is world-famous, showcasing the Moine Thrust where immense tectonic forces pushed older rocks over younger ones.
