Creag Meagaidh Terrain Block

Creag Meagaidh is a mountain of two halves: a sprawling, mossy plateau and the magnificent, precipitous cliffs of Coire Ardair. The 'Window', a high notch in the headwall, provides a dramatic breach in the cliffs. It is a National Nature Reserve, celebrated not just for its peaks but for the regeneration of its native birchwoods.

About Creag Meagaidh

Name probably means 'Boggy Crag'. It was saved from commercial forestry and is now managed for nature. The Coire Ardair cliffs are among the most important winter climbing sites in Scotland, steeped in mountaineering history.
