Creag Mhòr Terrain Block

Creag Mhòr is a steep, grassy mountain located in the Tyndrum hills, often climbed with its neighbour Beinn Heasgarnich. It is famed for the remnants of the ancient Caledonian Forest that clothe its lower slopes in Glen Lochay. The ascent is steep and sustained, leading to a sharp summit ridge that feels surprisingly narrow. It offers excellent views into the remote heart of the Mamlorn forest.

About Creag Mhòr

The 'Big Crag' lies in an area rich in history. The glens here were once heavily populated, as evidenced by the numerous ruins. The mountain sits near the route of the West Highland Way, yet feels a world away in its quiet solitude. It is a habitat for diverse birdlife, including golden eagles.
