About Creag Uchdag

The name Creag Uchdag—the 'Crag of the Breast'—reflects the mountain's broad, rounded profile as seen from the southern glens. Historically, it has been part of the vast hunting grounds of the Breadalbane estate, its lands historically vital for the wild deer herds and the ancient highland clans. Geologically, it is composed of metamorphic Dalradian rock, its forms smoothed by the massive ice sheets that once covered the entire central landscape. It remains a witness to the enduring traditions of travel and exploration that define the southern Highlands, offering a quiet, uncompromised encounter with the wild spirit of the hills.
