Geologically, it is part of the Moine supergroup, its rocks recording millions of years of tectonic pressure, now evident in its folded rocks and sharp ridges. Today, it remains a peak of pilgrimage for those seeking a true encounter with the wild, untamed heritage of the West Highlands, requiring long expeditions from the road-ends that preserve its status as a cornerstone of the Scottish wilderness.
