Gaor Bheinn Terrain Block

Gaor Bheinn, also known as Gulvain, is the highest mountain in the remote area north of Loch Eil. It is a long, twin-topped ridge, with the true summit being the further distinct peak. The ascent is a long, relentless slog, but the reward is a feeling of immense space and views towards the Nevis range and the wilds of Knoydart.

About Gaor Bheinn

Gulvain is an anglicization of the Gaelic. The mountain was surveyed by the early OS teams who had to contend with its remote nature. It stands on the edge of the 'Rough Bounds', a historically lawless and rugged area of the Highlands.
