About Glas Bheinn

True to its name—the 'Green Hill'—this peak reflects the rich, verdant pastures and lower slopes that have for centuries provided autumn food for the wild deer and the ancient highland clans. Historically, its ridges were vital lookouts for the early communities that lived in the hidden glens. Geologically, it is part of the Moine supergroup, its rocks recording millions of years of tectonic pressure, now evident in its folded rocks and sharp ridges. Today, it remains a peak for the connoisseur, often climbed from Inchnadamph to appreciate its unique perspective on the wild, untamed heritage of the West Highlands, offering a quiet, uncompromised encounter with the wild spirit of the hills.
