Glas Maol Terrain Block

Glas Maol is the highest of the Glenshee Munros, a vast, rounded dome that dominates the eastern side of the Cairnwell Pass. Its name 'Grey Bare Hill' is fitting for its extensive, stony plateau. The summit marks the meeting point of three counties: Perthshire, Angus, and Aberdeenshire. It offers easy access from the ski centre but retains a wild character on its eastern flanks, where steep corries drop into Caenlochan Glen.

About Glas Maol

Historically, the flat summit was a meeting place for local landowners and graziers. The Caenlochan Glen below involves a National Nature Reserve, protecting rare alpine plants that cling to the lime-rich cliffs. It is a hill of borders and boundaries, bridging the gap between the busy ski slopes and the silent Angus glens.
