Glas Tulaichean Terrain Block

Glas Tulaichean is a solitary giant located north of the Spittal of Glenshee. It is a big, complex mountain of ridged spurs and steep corries. The summit is reached via a long land-rover track that winds up its southern slopes, originally built for a narrow-gauge railway that was never completed (or is often confused with a stalking track). It offers splendid isolation and views towards the heart of the Cairngorms.

About Glas Tulaichean

The name means 'Grey Green Hills', possibly referring to its grassy ridges. The track is often called the 'Toy Railway' track, though no rails were ever laid; it was intended for easy access for shooting parties. The mountain serves as a prominent landmark in the Dalmunzie estate.
