Gleouraich Terrain Block

Gleouraich is a superb mountain overlooking Loch Quoich. Its crowning glory is its long, winding eastern ridge, which provides a magnificent high-level walk. The summit is a sharp peak that commands extensive views over the Rough Bounds of Knoydart and the vast reservoir below. It is almost always climbed in conjunction with Spidean Mialach.

About Gleouraich

The name means 'The Uproar' or 'Noise', potentially relating to the wind roaring across its exposed ridges or the sound of rutting stags. The construction of the Quoich dam raised the water level, altering the approach, but the mountain remains a classic example of the rugged western Highlands.
