Lurg Mhòr Terrain Block

Lurg Mhòr is one of the remotest Munros, situated in the wild country between Loch Monar and Attadale. It is a long ridge mountain, usually climbed with Bidean a' Choire Sheasgaich. The walk-in is epic, often involving a cycle or a very long trek. The summit ridge is narrow and airy, dropping steeply into the dark waters of Loch Monar.

About Lurg Mhòr

The 'Big Shank' or 'Leg' refers to its long ridge shape. The drowning of Glen Strathfarrar and Monar for hydro power changed the eastern approaches, but the western side remains gloriously wild. It is a peak that requires determination and planning to reach.
