Maol Chinn-dearg Terrain Block

Maol Chinn-dearg is a steep, grassy peak on the South Glen Shiel Ridge. Not to be confused with its Torridon namesake, this 'Bald Red Head' is part of the continuous chain of seven Munros. It features a narrow, rocky ridge section that adds interest to the high-level traverse. The northern slopes drop precipitously into the remote Glen Quoich.

About Maol Chinn-dearg

A key link in the South Glen Shiel chain. The ridge here follows the old county boundary. The sheer quantity of peaks on this single ridge makes it a famous outing, often completed in a single long day by fit walkers.
