Meall a' Chrasgaidh Terrain Block

Meall a' Chrasgaidh is the northern sentinel of the Fannichs. It is a broad, stony mountain that presents a steep face to the north but a gentle ridge to the south connecting to the main range. It is often the first peak climbed on the Fannichs traverse, ascended from the Dirrie Mòr road. The view north to An Teallach is outstanding.

The 'Hill of the Crossing' likely refers to a pass or route nearby used by drovers. The Fannichs were a formidable barrier to travel before modern roads. The mountain's rocks are part of the tortured geology of the Moine Thrust.
