Meall Buidhe Terrain Block

Meall Buidhe (Knoydart) is a rough, sprawling mountain at the head of Loch Nevis. It commands a strategic position between the Rough Bounds of Knoydart and the main spine of the Highlands. The summit is a broad plateau offering sweeping views of the sea lochs. It is usually climbed from Inverie, a long and rewarding day out.

About Meall Buidhe

The 'Yellow Hill', likely named for the grass that colours it in autumn. Knoydart is known as 'Britain's Last Wilderness', and Meall Buidhe stands as a gatekeeper to this roadless peninsula. The clearing of the glens for sheep farming in the 19th century left ruins that can still be seen on the approach.
