Meall na Teanga Terrain Block

Meall na Teanga is a steep, conical peak rising above Loch Lochy. It is linked to its neighbour Sròn a' Choire Ghairbh by a low col, and the two are almost always climbed together. The mountain has a distinct shape, resembling a tongue (as its name suggests) when seen from certain angles. The summit offers a brilliant view of Ben Nevis and the Great Glen.

About Meall na Teanga

The 'Hill of the Tongue' sits in Cameron country. It was a witness to the clan battles of Lochaber. The 'Dark Mile' forest nearby is famous for its associations with Bonnie Prince Charlie. The steep slopes were traditionally difficult for cattle but good for goats.
