Moruisg Terrain Block

Moruisg is a massive, wedge-shaped mountain rising from Glen Carron. From the road, it appears as a relentless, steep grassy slope. The ascent is indeed steep, but the summit plateau is broad and offers magnificent views of the Torridon peaks to the north and the Monar hills to the south. It is a hill of simple, brutal scale.

About Moruisg

The name means 'Big Water', possibly referring to the marshy ground on its lower slopes or the view of Loch Monar. It was a key part of the deer forests of the Victorian era. The construction of the railway through Glen Carron opened up these hills to early climbers.
