Na Gruagaichean Terrain Block

Na Gruagaichean is a graceful, twin-topped mountain in the Mamores. Its name 'The Maidens' refers to its two shapely summits. The ridge connecting them is narrow and airy. It is usually climbed with Binnein Mòr, forming a high-level horseshoe of exceptional quality. The views south to the Glencoe hills are particularly fine.

About Na Gruagaichean

The legend says the peaks represent two maidens, possibly sisters. It is a mountain of elegance. The Mamores were a hunting ground for the kings of Scotland, and 'The Maidens' would have been a landmark for the royal parties.
