Ruadh Stac Mor Terrain Block

Ruadh Stac Mòr is the highest point of the majestic Beinn Eighe massif. It is a complex mountain of white quartzite scree, steep buttresses, and hidden corries. The summit is difficult to reach, often involving a steep scramble up stone chutes. It offers one of the most famous views in Scotland—the triple buttresses of Coire Mhic Fhearchair reflecting in the lochan below.

About Ruadh Stac Mor

The 'Big Red Stack' (though it is capped with white quartzite, the underlying rock is red Torridonian sandstone). Beinn Eighe was Britain's first National Nature Reserve, established to protect the ancient Caledonian pine forest at its foot. The mountain is a geological icon.
