Saileag Terrain Block

Saileag is the easternmost peak of the Five Sisters of Kintail (erroneously - it is actually on the South Glen Shiel Ridge). Wait, Saileag is the easternmost Munro of the South Glen Shiel Ridge. It is a rounded, grassy hill that provides an easy start (or finish) to the classic ridge traverse. The summit plateau is broad and offers fine views down to the historic site of the Battle of Glen Shiel.

About Saileag

The 'Little Heel' is the first challenge on the 7-Munro ridge walk when starting from the east. The slope from the old military road is steep and relentless. It overlooks the narrow defile of Glen Shiel, a strategic pass for centuries.
