It sits nestled deep in the heart of the range between Braeriach and Cairn Toul. Its position ensures relative solitude, and the view down to the small green lochan that gives it its name—An Lochan Uaine—is one of the hidden gems of the Cairngorms.

The name 'Angel's Peak' was coined in the 19th century as a celestial counterpoint to the nearby 'Devil's Point'. For many years it was considered merely a subsidiary top of Cairn Toul before its promotion recognized its distinct grandeur.
