Sgor Gaoith Terrain Block

Sgòr Gaoith is a mountain of breathtaking contrast. From the west, it appears as a gentle, heather-clad slope rising from Glen Feshie. But its eastern face is one of the most dramatic sights in the Cairngorms—a sheer, vertical cliff dropping over 600 metres directly into the dark waters of Loch Eanaich. Standing on the summit edge offers an airy and spectacular view.

About Sgor Gaoith

The name means 'Windy Peak', a fitting title for such an exposed promontory. It is one of the few places where the true scale of the Cairngorm plateau can be appreciated from a side profile.
