Sgorr Ruadh Terrain Block

Sgorr Ruadh is a stunning mountain of red Torridonian sandstone in the Coulin forest. Its name 'Red Peak' is perfectly descriptive. Steep terraces of rock defend the summit, which offers one of the best viewpoints for Liathach and Beinn Eighe. The ascent via the corrie is a rough, steep delight for those who love rocky terrain.

About Sgorr Ruadh

Geologically fascinating, it sits on the boundary where ancient sandstone meets other rock types. The Coulin estate has a long history of deer management. The mountain is a rugged individualist, often overshadowed by the Torridon giants but matching them for character.
