Sgurr Bàn Terrain Block

Sgurr Bàn is the 'White Peak' of the Great Wilderness (Fisherfield). It is a bright quartzite pyramid that stands out against the darker rocks of its neighbours. Located in one of the remotest areas of Scotland, it is usually climbed as part of the epic Fisherfield Six round. The terrain is distinctively rocky and sharp.

About Sgurr Bàn

Its hard quartzite rock has resisted erosion better than some surrounding stone, leaving a sharp, stony summit. The remoteness of the Fisherfield Forest means this peak sees few visitors compared to roadside Munros. It is a prize for the dedicated.
