Sgurr Breac Terrain Block

Sgurr Breac is the second highest peak of the Fannichs, a massive, steep-sided mountain. Its 'Speckled Peak' name refers to the stones that dot its slopes. It sits in the western central part of the range. The precipitous northern face is a dramatic sight, dropping into the remote Loch a' Bhraoin. The traverse to A' Chailleach is a fine ridge walk.

A formidable barrier in the past. The Fannichs were notoriously difficult to access before the 'Destitution Road' was built. Sgurr Breac's height makes it a commanding viewpoint for the northern Highlands, looking out to sea.
