Sgurr Eilde Mòr Terrain Block

Sgurr Eilde Mòr is the easternmost of the Mamores, a perfect cone of scree and rock rising steeply from the Coire an Lochain. It stands apart from the main ridge, requiring a detour to bag. Its isolation gives it a special character and uninterrupted views to the east over the desolate Blackwater Reservoir.

About Sgurr Eilde Mòr

The 'Big Peak of the Hind'. Its sharp shape makes it instantly recognizable. The nearby reservoir and dam were built by 'navvies' in harsh conditions, and the mountain looks down on their burial ground near the dam.
